HOUSING state minister and Kampala Central MP Capt. Francis Babu has said he will quit the Movement if critics do not stop abusing him
HOUSING state minister and Kampala Central MP Capt. Francis Babu has said he will quit the Movement if critics do not stop abusing him, writes Patrick Jaramogi.
“I am just fed up of insults and abuses. I didn’t have grey hair but now whenever I am abused gray hair increases. I may be forced to quit the Movement if insults heaped on me do not cease,†Babu (above) said at a seminar at the Regency Hotel in Bakuli in Kampala on Friday.
The heated impromptu seminar that started at 6:00pm till close to midnight was aimed at ironing out the controversy emerging from the Kampala district movement interim committee.
Over 300 councillors and Movement agents attended the seminar.
Babu accused primary education state minister Nyombi Thembo and the President’s legal assistant, Nava nabagesera, of meddling in the affairs of his constituency.
“I have had enough from Nyombi Thembo. He should leave Kampala alone and concentrate on his Kasanda South constituency,†Babu said, adding, “The insults and abuses I have got are enough. It’s even soon penetrating into my bedroom. If it continues I will leave the Movement and fight them as an individual while in Parliament.â€
Movement Information Director Ofwono Opondo yesterday said, “The Movement vice-chairman, Moses Kigongo, will meet all the rival Movement groups this week. It’s in that consultation meeting that we shall iron out such issues.â€
