What is the problem with Stanbic, Mbarara?

SIR — I wish to point out an anomaly in Stanbic Mbarara, especially during the first weeks of every month.

SIR — I wish to point out an anomaly in Stanbic Mbarara, especially during the first weeks of every month.

There are only four tellers who attend to hundreds of customers and although these young people are really good at their work, they are overwhelmed by the sheer number of customers.

For a busy person like a doctor or businessman probably hurrying to catch a bus to kampala or elsewhere, these endless queue are extremely frustrating. It seems management have reached the end of their tether for it appears every decision must come from above. There is only one outlet attending to all and sundry.

There are people who want to transfer money, those who want to know the status of their accounts, to bank or to withdraw and must all line up to be served by the four tellers.

It is not unusual to see a line of 40 or more people patiently waiting to get served.

Is this the efficiency stanbic came to provide? Why is it that UCB was providing these services unobtrusively?

Has the clientele trebled? What is happening?

Customers have no desks to transact their businesses from and yet we were told tables were ordered a long time ago!
