SENIOR presidential adviser on political affairs Maj. Ronald Kakooza Mutale has taken his pro-Movement system campaign to Western Uganda, reports Emmy Allio.

Aboard his yellow bus, a symbol of the Movement system, Mutale and members of Kalangala Action Plan (KAP) yesterday drove in a convoy to Masindi district.

A senior KAP official said Mutale would address rallies in Luweero, Masindi, Hoima, Kibaale, Kyejonjo, Mubende and Mityana.

Meanwhile, President Yoweri Museveni has told the army leadership that he will punish Mutale if he continues to be controversial on the issue of the referendum.

“The commander-in-chief has promised to handle his adviser on political affairs if he continues to cause more controversies,” army spokesman Lt. Col. Shaban Bantariza said. Mutale’s anti-multi-party campaigns had irked the army leadership. The army said Mutale was engaging in activities incompatible with what is expected of soldiers on controversial political issues.
