KANUNGU district council has passed budget estimates for the financial year 2005/06, with a shortfall of sh20m.
Presenting the budget on July 5, the secretary for finance, planning and administration, Justine Kakuru said with the scrapping of the Graduated Tax, the district found no other means of raising revenue to fund its activities.
She said the district would spend sh10.28b this year, compared to sh10.3b in the 2004/05 financial year.
The district expects to raise sh139,002693 from local revenue and sh9,346,839,000 from government transfers.
