SC VILLA custodian Denis Onyango (left) is proving unbeatable in the City Tyres Super League and could extend the 450 minutes he has gone without conceding a goal when the Jogoos take on Mbarara today.

A clean sheet will confirm Onyango’s growing status as the country’s number one goalkeeper.

He rose to prominence at the CECAFA Club championships in Mwanza when he guided Villa to regional victory without conceding a goal.

Villa will yet again build from the back as they seek to secure three points that will prove vital in obtaining status as Group A leaders.

Coach Sam Timbe has transformed Villa’s domestic fortunes after a faltering start. What is remarkable is that he has relied on teenagers.

Timbe has picked Steven Bengo, Oscar Agaba and Ronald Muganga in place of veterans Hakim Magumba and Morley Byekwaso.
Meanwhile, KCC FC returns tomorrow against hard-battling Victor in a must win fixture.

r Confusion over the appointment of referees led to some matches in the Nigerian League to be postponed at the weekend.

Referees appointed by the Nigeria Football Association (NFA) arrived at match venues only to find another set of officials sent by the Nigerian Football League (NFL), the league organisers.
