MUKONO — A suspected murderer was on Sunday stoned to death while another was rescued by the Police when residents of Bubira village in Ssi sub-county pounced on them. The two allegedly killed Muzamiru ndikubibaana two weeks earlier. The Police rescued Sunday Muranje, whom the residents had doused in petrol.

NGO donates
MUKONO — George Heinz foundation, a local NGO, has donated a pick-up truck worth sh9m to the Mukono town council teachers’ association. Mayor Johnson Muyanja said the organisation also donated 80 desks to 15 schools. Handing over the truck to the teachers at the Mayor’s Garden last week, Muyanja warned headteachers against using it for their personal gain.

MUBENDE — The Bishop of Kiyinda-Mityana Diocese, Prof. Joseph Anthony Zziwa, is to ordain five deacons into priesthood on Saturday. The candidates who have just completed a theology course are Jude Ssengendo, gonzaga Ssempala, Joseph Galiwango, Joseph Nyanzi and Vincent Kajoba.
