THE Aloe Vera Development Association of Uganda will next month start manufacturing Aloe Vera juice, Dan Ssesanga, the company’s director of operations, said recently.

Aloe Vera, a raw material for cosmetics and the health industry, is grown extensively in Uganda.

Ssesanga said, “We started with Alpha Baby Jelly. We now want to provide cost-effective Aloe Vera juice to Ugandans.”

He said the juice to be named Aveda, would be a good immunity booster for body cells.

Ssesanga said the association has over 1,500 farmers across 22 districts.
“Apart from making baby jelly, we also buy Aloe Vera seedlings and plants from farmers for re-sell to prospective farmers,” he said. Seedlings go for sh1,500 per kilo.
