TOP seed Abraham Wogute had a field day at the Manji 2005 badminton Open that ended on Sunday at Lugogo Indoor Stadium.

The Kampala Club player, in the absence of Edwin Ekiring, who beat him in last year’s final, was in top form after he dispensed off Ivan Karimunda 2-1 in the men’s final.

Wogute won a trophy and cash prize of sh0.15m.

Wogute combined with Andrew Oryada to lift the men’s doubles trophy after beating William Kabindi and Karimunda in straight sets. He later partnered Edith Wamalwa to again beat Karimunda and Monica Nakityo in the mixed doubles.

Kenyan Irene Kelima retained the women singles trophy after she beat Monica Nakityo 2-1 at the tournament sponsored by Kampala firm, Hydery Forex Bureau.
