PRESIDENTIAL aide Charles Rwomushana’s efforts to be paid a salary of a resident district commissioner have failed to mature

PRESIDENTIAL aide Charles Rwomushana’s efforts to be paid a salary of a resident district commissioner have failed to mature, reports Hillary Kiirya.

Rwomushana has accordingly petitioned the Minister in charge of the Presidency, Beatrice Wabudeya, requesting that payment be done by the Secretary Office of the President instead of the Internal Security Organisation (ISO).

High Court judge Remmy Kasule in his judgment over the issue, ordered for the re-instatement of the salary but the order has been ignored.

Rwomushana said, “The Director General ISO (Amos Mukumbi) has for the last two months not implemented the court’s order and directives from the defence minister, Amama Mbabazi,” he said.

In his petition to Wabudeya, Rwomushana said, “I have performed my duties diligently in accordance with the 1995 Constitution and hence fall under the protection of article 173 (a). I feel I have exhausted all available disciplined avenues of resolving this issue. I humbly appeal to you as my last resort for your intervention to arrest the embarrassing situation that my family and I have been pushed into.”

Rwomushana copied the petition to President Yoweri Museveni, the Prime Minister, the Inspector General of Government, Secretary Office of the President and the Director General ISO.
