THE FUFA normalisation committee has dropped Cranes coach Mohammad Abbas, telling NCS they will not pay him anymore.

In a letter: NCS/Cranes/7-07/1 to National Council of Sports (NCS) secretary Jasper Aligawesa delivered last week, FUFA’s Patrick Isiagi said the committee was unable to foot Abbas’ $500 (sh0.8m) monthly allowances.

“We are faced with financial constraints making it impossible to meet the national coach’s (Abbas) financial obligation,” Isiagi said partly in the letter.

Isiagi praised NCS’ ‘exemplary co-operation’ but Aligawesa said yesterday: “They must take their responsibility. If Abbas decided to go to court, it will be FUFA and not us (NCS) to answer. We don’t know their terms of agreement.”

Aligawesa said he had forwarded a copy of the letter to sports minister Charles Bakkabulindi.

NCS took over payment of allowances to the Egyptian coach when government suspended the FUFA executive of Denis Obua in February but Aligawesa said that it was only meant for the period of suspension.
