The National Political Commissar, Dr. Crispus Kiyonga (right), has said it is high time the Obusinga bwa rwenzururu (Bukonzo cultural institution) issue is resolved.

He was recently addressing a rally at Kisinga trading centre in Bukonzo county, Kasese district.

Kiyonga, the Bukonzo west MP, asked Yowasi Kamabu, a Rwenzururu Freedom Movement fighter, to organise a meeting of Kasese elders to decide the way forward.
Kiyonga leads a group of Bakonzo and Bamba, who are opposed to the recognition of the Obusinga.

The group is waiting for a decision President Yoweri Museveni will take after studying the Kajura report on the issue.

In April, a Cabinet committee, led by the second deputy premier, Henry Kajura, gathered opinions of the people on the Obusinga in the districts of Bundibugyo and Kasese and submitted a report to the President.
