THE king of Kadongo kamu music Lord Fred Sebatta has declared he is a born-again.
The 47-year-old leader of the Matendo band said he got saved two years ago, after he developed a severe headache, which disorganised him.
He said he visited several clinics and traditional shrines, to get a cure in vain! He said he was only healed when the late Prophet Ezra, then based at Bat Valley’s St. Francis SSS, prayed for him. But during the prayer sessions, Ezra told Sebatta that God wanted to use him as a preacher, an advice that he took seriously.
The biblical verse “Jesus is Lord,†which Sebatta came across as he read the Bible for the first time also inspired him. It is then that he realised that his stage name ‘Lord’ was a mockery. He pronounced his faith recently, at the Rev. Lule’s church in Nakulabye.
Sebatta’s new song, Jangu Nga Bwoli (Come as you are), is the beginning of his ambitious Gospel project.
Sebatta cherishes Psalm 35, to which he refers whenever he is faced with problems.
