‘I stole chicken in revenge’

MBARARA – When a man who was accused of stealing a chicken appeared in Ibanda court recently, he told the magistrate, Kiiza, that he had stolen the chicken because he felt like eating one.

Mwijukye, a peasant, is alleged to have stolen Mutabazi’s chicken.
However, with the help of neighbours, Mutabazi searched and caught Mwijukye, who this time revealed that he stole the chicken as a pay- back.
He added that he stole the chicken in revenge because in the past, the son of Mutabazi also stole some of his chickens.
The magistrate granted Mwijukye bail, but ordered him to keep reporting to the police once every month.
