Children exhibit Ugandan culture

FIVE children have returned from a two-week cultural festival in South Korea.

FIVE children have returned from a two-week cultural festival in South Korea.
The children were among hundreds of others from 33 countries worldwide, who participated in the annual International Young People’s Music festival.
They included Prossy Namirembe from Ntinda School of the Deaf, Bridget Nakwanyi of Kireka Parents Primary School and Emmanuel Aboki of Kibiri Church of Uganda Primary School
Others are Sofia Namyalo of Heritage Roots Primary School and Rokk Lwanga, a senior one student at Makerere College School.
Pamela Batenga, a cultural official from the gender, culture and social development ministry said the festival was organised with the aim of exchanging culture among different countries.
“The festival was very good and participants were interested in Ugandan cultural dances that the pupils exhibited,†Batenge said.
The pupils received certificates of participation from the organisers.
Parents and teachers including the headmaster of Kibiri Church of Uganda Primary School, Francis Kayanja, welcomed the children at the Airport.
