Uganda national rugby coach has intimated that Uganda will need to sharpen “weak areas” if they are to stand a chance of beating Zimbabwe in a crucial World Cup qualifier play-off.
Uganda lost the first leg in Harare 22-16, and will need to beat the Sabbles by a more-than-seven-points margin to qualify for the next qualifying round.
The subsequent qualifying round features six teams – Namibia, Morocco, Tunisia, Ivory Coast, Kenya and either Uganda or Zimbabwe – from which one team will qualify for the 2007 Rugby World Cup in France.
“I do not want to give excuses for the loss in Harare. If anything, it was bad luck. Just bad luck. But, once we sharpen the weak areas, we can win on Saturday,” Yayiro Kasasa said at a press conference.
The rugby football body, URFU, used the conference to name the team that will feature on Saturday and unveil Bell Lager, the official sponsors of the Uganda Rugby Cranes.
“As usual, the Bell Lager brand will come in to create a celebrator mood in form of entertainment from Bell cheerleaders and top artistes like Juliana Kanyomozi,” Oscar Mulira, the Bell brand manager, said.
