Trade tour
A trade delegation from Mbale municipality is to visit Karachi, Pakistan to explore trade opportunities in cars, spare parts, mechanical equipment and vegetables.
Mbale municipality MP Sylvester Wanjusi Wasieba said the LC5 chairman, Bernard Mujasi, would lead the delegation on the 10-day trip that starts on September 19.

Two die
A strange ailment suspected to be cholera is haunting residents of Bumba Island, Malongo sub-county in Mayuge district.
Local authorities said two people suffering from diarrhoea and vomiting died last week, while others are still fighting for their lives.

THE Nakapiripirit resident district commissioner, Michael Bwalatum, has warned district officials against mishandling government and donor-funded projects.
Bwalatum was speaking after the release of the Amudat sub-county chief, Elijah Kiralem, who misappropriated sh8.6m.

Soroti municipal council failed to host the competition to select a school to represent it due to lack of funds.

Man jailed
A man has been sentenced to two weeks in jail for stealing two bunches of matooke worth sh15,000. Ngobi Ntuyo pleaded guilty before Jinja Court on Tuesday.
