MAGANJO Grain Millers will invest sh1b in machinery and storage facilities to double production by next year, the managing director has said.

During an interview at the company’s plant in Maganjo, Wakiso district, recently, Mary Tamale said the company would produce 60,000 metric tonnes of food daily from the current 30,000.

“We are targeting 60,000 tonnes daily by next year, 70,000 tonnes by 2007 and 100,000 tonnes by 2010. We are installing a bigger drier, a grader to separate foreign particles from foods and a machine to separate stones from the maize,” she said.

The company, which was started in 1984, produces maize grains, maize flour, soy beans and its by-products, bread, beans, poultry and animal feeds.
