The leaders got their fifth win as lowly Aviation slumped to their fourth defeat at Lugogo club. The match set in motion the second round action.
Mulago now have 18 points from six matches with Aviation in fifth position at nine.
Mulago’s Stephen Kawuma and Grace Nsubuga drew with Peter Maguzi and Stephen Kisuze but Isaac Munanira and Willy Zabasajja ensured them victory by beating Pius Mwinganisa and Vianney Luggya.
In division two, leaders Mulago B, won without sweating after Nakulabye failed to turn up. Action resumes at the weekend.
