KOLOLO SSS survived from the jaws of defeat, edging Aga Khan High School by four runs at Lugogo oval yesterday, to storm the final of the national Coca Cola secondary schools cricket championship.
The tournament debutantes, Kololo will face defending champions Busoga College Mwiri who walloped highly fancied Makerere College by four wickets. The final is set for this afternoon at Lugogo.
Poor batting and fielding by Patrick Ochan (10), Jonathan Sebbanja (01) and Jimmy Okello nearly cost Kololo a place in the final after struggling to a paltry 88 runs all out in 22 overs.
Aga Khan were unlucky when Ali Adinan (12) was run out by Dennis Oboyi leaving the pressure to Ronald Ssemanda (39) who lacked the necessary backing.
At Kyambogo, U-19 World Cup players Arthur Kyobe, Charles Waiswa and Daniel Ruyange failed to guide Makerere College School to their first ever final slot of the championship.
