THE contestants of the first ever Miss Inter University beauty pageant had all reasons to smile last Wednesday night.

THE contestants of the first ever Miss Inter University beauty pageant had all reasons to smile last Wednesday night.

The event organisers threw the 18 girls a mega cocktail party ahead of the maiden contest, slated for September 17 at Lugogo Oval Cricket grounds. The event will feature girls from all the Universities in the country.

At the newly opened Grande Casino at the Crested Towers basement, every girl was a winner. From 8:00pm till late, the beauties wined, dined and would have probably forgotten that on September 17, there will be only one lucky winner to drive away the brand new Toyota Celica car, the prize at stake for the lucky winner.

Capital fm’s celebrated comedian Oulanya Columbus, the night’s MC, ensured there was no boredom as he kept the guests laughing with his rib-breaking jokes.

The talented instrumentalists from Kampala Music School took control of the instant flow of smooth jazz all through.

Some of the notable personalities who attended the event included former ESO boss David Pulkol, ex-Shadow’s Angels’ Boss and Capital fm presenter, Roger Mugisha, Sanyu fm’s Seanice Kacungira, R& B sensation Maurice Kirya, EATV’s Karitas Karisimbi, and current Miss Kyambogo, KIU and Miss Nkumba.
