President Yoweri Museveni has said there is no more need for armed opposition in Uganda because there are various avenues through which disgruntled parties can air their concerns, writes Vision Reporter.

He made the remarks on Monday while meeting former Allied Democratic Front (ADF) fighters at State House, Nakasero, a statement said yesterday.

He thanked the former rebels for joining the Movement, saying it was only organisation that could peacefully lead Uganda as evidenced by the defeat of the ADF and the Kony rebels.

The President appreciated the group’s presentation of a proposal for their rehabilitation and pledged government support. On their welfare, Museveni urged them to educate their children as an investment and to engage in income-generating activities like poultry, animal rearing, fishing and fruit-growing.

The leader of the Unity for Self-rehabilitation, Sheikh Asadu Semindi, thanked Museveni for the amnesty law and pledged support for the Movement.
