FORMER IBF junior middleweight champion Kassim “The Dream” Ouma is to return to the ring on October 13 against Alfredo “Classy” Cuevas in Atlantic City, New Jersey, USA, reports Phillip Corry.

Dominic Pesoli, president of 8-Count Production announced the fight last Thursday. “We just faxed back the contract a couple of minutes ago. It’s a great opportunity for Freddie,” Pesoli said.

“A win for Ouma would get him right back on the top of the rankings.”

The fight comes two months after the Ugandan pugilist lost his 154 pound IBF crown to Russia’s Roman “Made in Hell” Karmazin.

The Florida-based former UPDF boxer will use the fight to claw back into the super welterweight division after he lost his ranking in major boxing bodies.

IBF now rates Ouma at number six while WBC rates him at 14. He needs two fights to get back into the title picture.

The fight will be promoted by Golden Boy Promotions and 8-Count Production. Ouma is 21-2-1(13 KOs) while Cuevas is 25-7-1(17 KOs).
