THE Police in Kampala are investigating the circumstances under which veteran UTV sports presenter Patrick luwandaga’s daughter was burnt with acid by her jilted lover in Bweyogerere, a Kampala suburb, at the weekend.

THE Police in Kampala are investigating the circumstances under which veteran UTV sports presenter Patrick luwandaga’s daughter was burnt with acid by her jilted lover in Bweyogerere, a Kampala suburb, at the weekend.
The jilted lover Fred Ajuna, the manager of Africana Bookshop located at Blacklines House in the city centre, reportedly drunk the acid and died.
“It seems he (Ajuna) drunk the acid which he had in a small jerrycan and died,†said a resident.
A witness yesterday said Diana Luwandaga, 23, had gone to visit Ajuna, when she was attacked.
Diana, who was admitted in critical condition, was by yesterday still in the Intensive Care Unit at Mulago Hospital.
A doctor said, “She may survive but the burns are so severe that she may never see again.â€
A witness said, “We saw her enter the room after lunch but later, we heard screams from the room, which prompted residents to intervene.â€
The witness added, “The residents broke the door and found the lady (Diana) screaming due to the pain, which we later learnt was caused by the acid.â€
The Police said some people had been arrested.
