RYTTER Namusisi played her best game ever to down women’s defending champion, Kenyan Irene Kerima, in the final of the sh8m three-day Roofings sponsored badminton Open on Sunday at Lugogo.

Kerima had dominated Namusisi for the past two years, but the Sharing Youth Centre second seed this time put up a great show to take the game in straight sets 11-3, 11-3.

“I have been training hard and I am happy I won,” said Namusisi who had earlier dispensed off Our Lady of Good Counsel SSS Linda Damba in straight sets in the semi-final.

Kerima beat Phiona Ssozi at the same stage.

In the men’s event, Edwin Ekiring took the title, but against third seed Ivan Karimunda in straight sets. Karimunda had earlier surprised second seed Abraham Wogute, whom he beat 2-1 (17-14, 7-15, 15-4) in the semis.
