THE Police in liaison with International Police (Interpol) have recovered a sh60m station wagon vehicle, stolen at gun point from Kenya, writes Moses Nampala.

The green Prado Land Cruiser No. 40 UN 83K that belongs to the UN offices in Nairobi, was intercepted by Police detectives at Kakira, on the Jinja-Iganga highway in Jinja district.

South-eastern regional CID chief Terence Kinyera, however, said the suspects were still at large as they abandoned the vehicle by the roadside and fled.

“They escaped after noticing a Police road block about a kilometre away,” said Kinyera.

Ugandan Police were contacted by their counterparts in Kenya after the UN office reported the robbery.

He said they were planning to hand over the vehicle to Kenya authorities.

The driver said the thugs forced him out of the car at gun point.
