Opito spurs Heathens to victory

KENNETH Opito scored two tries as MTN Heathens recorded a 14-7 victory over champions Mango Kobs in the second leg of the sevens circuit at Kampala rugby Club on Saturday.

KENNETH Opito scored two tries as MTN Heathens recorded a 14-7 victory over champions Mango Kobs in the second leg of the sevens circuit at Kampala rugby Club on Saturday.
Heathens went on to thump Makerere Hima Impis 26-5 in the final of the main cup to twist the four-leg circuit to a very tight bend.
Tries from Opito, Ronnie Mabonga and Peter Magona inspired Heathens to victory after a poor show in the first leg that was won by Kobs.
With the return into action of their captain Opito, the eventual winners showed no signs of nerves in the 16-team tournament as they took all their games by the scruff of the neck from the kick off.
After eliminating Kobs 14-7 in the quarter final, the writing was clear on the wall as impressive Opito again made a try that sunk Hima Impis 5-0 in the main cup semi final.
