FOR all the Ugandans that regularly and faithfully tune in to the BBC Word Service, it is payback time.
For the first time ever, the new weekend version of the popular Network Africa programme will be broadcast live from Kampala.

Network Africa presenter Bola Mosuru yesterday said the programme had been running from Monday to Friday, but since last week, there had been a weekend version.

“We also have the Road Show, where we take the programmes to the people in different towns,” he said.

Mosuru is one of the top BBC presenters who are in Uganda for the Road Show.

Jinja-born Paul bakibinga, the service’s top African presenter, is currently in the west.
They started in Masaka on Wednesday, travelled to Mbarara yesterday and will be in Fort Portal on Friday. They will also broadcast from Jinja, Tororo and Mbale districts.

BBC’s Kari Blackburn said, “With two million people listening in to our English programmes every week, Uganda is second to Nigeria.”

Listeners will have the opportunity to contact the presenters via SMS on 00-44-7786202008.
