With just one round left in the 2005 Sevens Circuit, the odds favour current champions MTN Heathens, but with the possibility that any of the top three teams, Heathens, Impis, and Kobs can take the trophy if they emerge winners of the Main Trophy.

Last year’s winners Heathens top the table, and an outright win of the Main Trophy will see them take their third Sevens title in four years.

If Heathens come second to Hima Impis, as they stunningly did last week, the title could still be theirs unless Impis score 17 more tries than them.

Even if they get knocked out in the semi-finals, and Impis don’t win outright, the title is still theirs.

Season surprises Hima Impis will get their first trophy in almost ten years if they can win the main trophy, or come second and hope Heathens do not qualify for the Main Cup semi-finals — a somewhat unlikely event.

Mango Kobs, winner of the first circuit, will be hoping that Heathens do not make it to the semi-finals, and Impis finish less than second.

The presence again of LG Rhinos, who boycotted last week’s round protesting poor officiating, might put a major wrench in the works, as they are capable of beating any of the top three teams.

Celtel Pirates are also lurking on the sides, looking to cause misery to any title hopefuls that put a step wrong.

Boks, who reached the semi-finals last week, are also in the mix, which sets up a very explosive end to the local rugby season being hosted in memory of rugby star Edward Kitaka.
