URA shrugged off a stiff challenge by edging Mulago 7-5 to retain the Inter-club darts title in a nail-biting final in Masaka Sunday.

URA shrugged off a stiff challenge by edging Mulago 7-5 to retain the Inter-club darts title in a nail-biting final in Masaka Sunday.
In a seesaw affair, victory could have gone either way as Mulago’s Emanuel Bitwire, Isaac Berocan, Patrick Opolot and Allan Besigye equally matched the firepower of the defending champions.
Bitwire fired the first deadly shot that put URA’s top seed Mike Oteba out of action as the two sides tied 4-4 in the singles.
It took the experience of the tax collectors to find the finishing touch in doubles through John Opio/Chris Wabwire and Juma Kasagga/Patrick Kateregga.
