THE UN Security Council has blacklisted the owner of Gaaga Coaches, Arua businessman James Nyakuni and 15 other Rwandese and DR Congolese bussinemen.

UN Security Council members will arrive in Uganda next week to get government assistance in enforcing the arrest warrant listed on UN press release on November 1.

The justification listed by the UN for wanting Nyakuni said, “Trade partnership with commandant Jerome particularly smuggling across the DRC/Uganda border, including suspected weapons and military materials in unchecked trucks.”

The UN said Nyakuni violated “arms embargo and provision of assistance to armed groups and militia reffered to in paragraph 20 of Resolution 1493 (2003), including financial support that allows them to operate.”

The document lists among others leaders of warring forces in Congo, including Gen. Jerome Kakwavu who was operating with his militia in DRC areas bordering West Nile region of Uganda.

He is currently based in Kinshasha after he was appointed into the DRC government army.

Among those listed are the DRC rebel leader Kakolele who was expelled by Uganda Government in August.
