AFRICA CC completed their Castle Lager league in style with a dramatic one wicket win over champions Tornado in a tension packed tie at Kyambogo on Sunday.
Tornado, already champions, ten points clear of second-placed ACC suffered their first loss infront of the youthful side.
A poor batting display from Joel Olweny (11), Benjamin Musoke (07) and Frank Nsubuga (28) exposed the ‘mighty’ Tornado, as they could not counter the spirited bowling of Junior Kwebiiha (3-23) and Clive Kyangungu (3-24).
Contributions from Charles Lwanga (22) and Lawrence Sematimba (39 off 91 balls) laid a firm foundation for ACC that Richard Okia (8*) used to overhaul the set score with four overs at hand.
At Lugogo, armatures Castle XI upset Kenneth Kamyuka’s Tornado B by 28 runs.
At Nakawa, an unbeaten 53 runs from Tendo Mbazzi and purposeful bowling from Davis Arinaitwe (4-32) earned Wanderers CC an 84 run victory over Nile CC, and finish among the top four for the Championship Trophy.
Tornado B take on Patidar in the last league game on Sunday.
