BARK cloth (olubugo) has been patented in Germany, a participant in an international negotiations meeting has said.
“Bark cloth has been registered in Germany already, though I can’t imagine why,†a Bank of Uganda official said.
Another official said ripe banana wine (tonto), had been registered in South Africa.
“We lack facilities for registering such properties in the country,†an official from the Registrar’s office said.
