UGANDAN’S will cheer on Jackson “Action” Asiku, as he battles for the vacant Commonwealth featherweight title against Marc Callaghan at the Goresbrook Leisure Centre, Dagenham, Essex today.

UGANDAN’S will cheer on Jackson “Action” Asiku, as he battles for the vacant Commonwealth featherweight title against Marc Callaghan at the Goresbrook Leisure Centre, Dagenham, Essex today.

“We are expecting a big crowd to cheer him on when he vies for this crown,” Danny Lutaaya, Asiku’s manager said.

“It is always good to have support from your compatriots and I think he will take full advantage of that.”

Asiku will relinquish his Africa Boxing Union (ABU) featherweight belt as he concentrates on the task to win the Commonwealth crown.
The British-based fighter goes into the fight with a reputable record.

He was a two-time Australian featherweight champion. He also was a WBO Asia Pacific featherweight champion and an IBF Pan Pacific challenger.
Asiku, has had 21 fights with 18 wins and three losses within the distance.

He has won his last three fights this year against Salus Kaunda of Zambia, Robert Oyan from the Philippines and Frederic Gosset of France maintaining his unbeaten streak in the ring.

His British opponent was a recent winner over Ian Napa, as he captured the British Super Bantamweight title.
