ALL did not go well at a CEO’s roundtable meeting at the Sheraton Hotel on Tuesday. The meeting came to a sudden stop when news filtered through radio stations asking people to get out of central Kampala as soon as possible because of the Col. Kizza Besigye riots.

The meeting, scheduled for 2:30pm, started more than 30 minutes late because most CEO’s were too frightened to show up.

After the news, utl boss Aimable Mpore told the meeting that: “My wife is calling every five minutes to find out where I am and I think the meeting should end now.”

Shortly afterwards, the CEOs fled as the sound of tear gas being fired could be heard in the city.

Meanwhile, people in the entertainment industry, have been complaining about a slump in business. When Besigye was arrested earlier this week, because of the uncertainty in town, Club Silk recorded its lowest ever sales since they opened up more than eight years ago.

Joining them are Kampala Sheraton Hotel, Rock Bar, Kasalinas near the Post Office, The Tavern and Grand Imperial Hotel.

The have all complained that the indicted Colonel Kizza Besigye is not good for business.
