Preparing for exams? Avoid violent protests

As a senior six candidate you need a stress buster in the current situation.

As a senior six candidate you need a stress buster in the current situation.

On top of the examination and, perhaps, economic stress, there is now political stress.

Probably last week’s commotion in the city and some other towns could have affected many day scholars.

This is something that is worrying all stakeholders; students, parents, teachers and government officials in the Ministry of Education and Sports and the President.

Most of you are of age — 18 years and above. You are just four or five years away from the field. Act responsibly.

The best thing to do is to desist from class politicking that may earn you enemies. Never engage in unlawful and violent demonstrations. Let us love this country by finding better ways to lead it than destroying even the little our parents or guardians have worked so hard to put in place to cater for our basic needs — health, education, etc.

The school administration is so concerned about your life plus parents as well as the security agents like the Police. Do as instructed to limit panic, confusion and be as far away from trouble as possible. It is very easy to lose life if care is not taken.

Always be with your identity card and all the necessary documents.

Go to school early and keep in school until you break off. Request to call your parents first in case of any emergency instead of getting a gate-pass.

Don’t leave school without the knowledge of the administration and the parent. What may seem calm lasts only a few minutes before turmoil. Let your parents have peace and joy with you till the end of the year.

The current political and economic events can also be of relevance to the lessons you need in history, economics, religious education, general paper, geography and languages. Get ideas that can be used to answer questions that need current examples.

Look at what is happening in your area and then think of how you can apply it on paper than die of stress.

Help your siblings to objectively analyse issues that benefit man. Many relatives, parents and elders are busy with work in the upheavals and some are confused.

You need to guide the young to see things better. They are like sheep without a shepherd.

Till next week.
Ends
