Mama Janet, politics is a dirty game

SIR — Mama Janet Museveni, First Lady of the Republic of Uganda should really think twice before listening to the people who are requesting her to contest in the 2006 polls for the Ruhama MP seat held by FDC official Augustine Ruzindana. Needless to say, it may be an excellent move for the NRM Organisation to have a candidate like her being represented but this adventurism is uncalled for, taking into account the kind of politics we have at present. We have seen documented achievements of Mama Janet, like winning the Global AIDS Leadership Award and her tireless work in the fight against HIV/AIDS and do not have to prove anything to the public. Her work with Uganda Women’s Effort to Save Orphans,UWESO has earned her enormous admiration even among those who are on the different political divide. For years, she has managed to keep a good reputation, carried herself as a woman of faith, and I wouldn’t want to see it all gone to the gutters in this ever so unpredictable world of Ugandan politics. We all know that politics is a dirty game with lots of manipulations, unconstitutional practices, lies, promises made and never fulfilled. Please Mama Janet do what you do best and stick to your tireless work in the fight against HIV/AIDS and children orphaned by AIDS and forget about the so called crocodile ‘cries’ and calling of the people of Ruhama.
