Coach Mohammad Abbas called Denmark-bound Steven Nsereko a ‘genius’ after he struck twice as a rampant Cranes scored six against hapless Djibouti at the Amahoro Stadium.

The 22-year-old, who scored two dramatic goals in Uganda’s 6-1 victory in a fixture called off a day earlier due to a power black-out, is being persued by Danish club Randers.

Yet so wasteful were Cranes that Geoffrey Massa, Nsereko and Vincent Kayizzi could have signed off with hat-tricks.

“I am not happy with the overall performance of our strikers because we were so wasteful.

But, Nsereko was outstanding, he was a genius today,” said Abbas.

Simeon Masaba’s 12th minute spot-kick after Massa had been fouled and Nsereko’s brace in the spell of just two minutes opened the floodgates before Abdirahman Okieh’s strike for Djibouti just before half time that ended 3-1.

Somalia, who Uganda play today, have a good game plan but will need to be at their most determined and well drilled tonight to deal with Massa, Kayizzi and Nsereko, let alone find a way past the exciting Tom Ssemogerere in defence.

There is also the other goal scorer yesterday, Geoffrey Sserunkuuma to deal with.

Highly influential Tony Mawejje secured Cranes fifth before 18-year-old Ronald Muganga, who substituted Hassan Mubiru got his first and Cranes sixth goal.
