Kampala City Council (KCC) yesterday said only Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) may display posters of its candidate Kizza Besigye, reports Milton Olupot.
Town Clerk James Sseggane said the display of NRM, DP and independent candidate Nasser Sebaggala’s posters was illegal as they had not paid for it.
“Only FDC has authority for their posters after paying sh500,000. All other posters have been put up illegally,†Sseggane said.
He said the fees would fund the removal of the unsightly posters after the campaign. He said the city is always left very dirty after the campaigns and KCC spends millions cleaning up the mess.
