NAKAPIRIPIRIT - One policeman was shot dead and two others injured when suspected warriors attacked Amudat Police post in Pokot county on Monday. RDC Michael Bwalatum identified the slain policeman as Loyoro, the in-charge of the post. He called for calm among residents, saying authorities were investigating the incident.

Man in court
JINJA - A man suspected to have stolen a bale of second-hand shoes worth sh250,000, has appeared before court. Prosecution said James Omoding stole the goods on November 20, in Napier market in the municipality. He was arrested by watchmen as he attempted to flee with his loot.

Gun found
BUSIA - The Police have recovered a gun with 22 bullets in Buwembe parish, Bulumbi sub-county. Area Police commander Chris Barugahare said the AK 47 number 1181102 was found buried in a bush.


Team tours

A team of consultants has toured the defunct Mulco factory in Jinja and also visited Southern Range Nyanza textiles in Njeru. The tour was to explore possible avenues of reviving Mulco, which collapsed in 1991 and assess the performance of Nyanza textiles.
