ULULATIONS and heaps of praise filled the air as ActionAid International and Katakwi District Development Initiative on Thursday gave community workers 120 bicycles and 25 exotic he-goats worth sh15,805,000 and sh9.2m respectively.

At a hand-over ceremony held at Apuuton Primary School in Katakwi town, ActionAid team leader Justine Omeke said the bicycles would ease mobility and communication of traditional birth attendants, peer educators and community health workers attached to ActionAid in the Ngariam, Magoro, Toroma, Kapujan, Omodoi and Ongongoja sub-counties.

Omeke said the project would soon give out 250 local goats worth sh8.5m to people living with HIV/AIDS in the same sub-counties and Kapelebyong sub-county in Amuria district.
