RUHAMA county NRM parliamentary aspirant Janet Museveni has dismissed allegations that she went to Ruhama to fight the incumbent MP and Forum for democratic change strongman Augustine Ruzindana as baseless claims.

She said her intention was to get the peoples’ mandate to work for them.

“I did not come to Ruhama to fight Ruzindana as is being spread by the FDC. My decision to contest for the seat was after I realised the county was not progressing yet it was where I was born. I decided to come and work for my people,” Janet said.

She said she had not done much for Ruhama in the past because she had not been mandated.

“Once you vote for me I will have the responsibility to work for you,” she said.
Mrs. Janet Museveni was addressing her campaign agents at a meeting for Rwikyiniro and Ruhama sub-counties in Ruhama county on Monday.

Janet passed unopposed to contest for the seat on the NRM party ticket.
She will tussle it out with Ruzindana, a former movement supporter.

Janet is also constructing herself a house at her father’s home village in Irenga. Present was Ntungamo woman MP Beatrice Rwakimaari.
