Heads of departments at Mulago Hospital have implored the striking post graduate students to provide emergency services on humanitarian grounds.
The Post Graduate Association of Mulago boss, Dr. Daniel Zzake, on Wednesday said department heads were informally requesting the students to halt the strike.
“The heads of departments have been informally meeting with some members of the association to ask them to resume work. They want us to provide emergency services,” he said.
He, however, said they could only make a resolution after a special meeting in which members would be consulted.
The strike forced the hospital administration to scale down its operations to only emergency cases in addition to scaling down the operations of the out-patient-clinics.
