KAMPALA City Council Football Club (KCC) manager Badru Kiggwe has decided to try his hand at boxing, and has entered a team for the Seniors Championships that start on January 1.

“I am a former boxer at Naguru and I love the sport. I had to get a club of my own because it is easier to manage unlike football, where you spend a lot,” Kiggwe said.

Kiggwe said he bought one of the three boxing teams owned by his KCC FC assistant manager, Sam ‘Don King’ Lukanga for a fee he did not disclose. He changed the club’s name from Makindye, to Kiggwe Boxing Club.

The Uganda Amateur Boxing Federation event is however been hit by a financial crisis and is in doubt.
