THE Deputy Inspector General of Police on Wednesday told court that he advised Middle North Agencies Ltd and General Parts (U) Ltd to contest their difference over plot 26 Mukabya Road, Nakawa in court, reports Florence Nakaayi.

Julius Peter Odwe told Nakawa Court Grade One Magistrate J.B Byarugabha that he stopped dealing with the land dispute after realising that there was a High Court ruling over the matter.
Odwe said he had earlier given a letter to Middle North allowing the company to develop the plot basing on communication from Kampala City Council, which was permitting Middle North to operate.

He said, later Hajji Haruna Ssemakula, the proprietor of General Parts, verbally complained to him and presented a High Court ruling which nullified Middle North title agreement.
Odwe was appearing as a defence witness in the matter where Ssemakula is being charged with criminal trespass and forceful entry on the plot.
