THE Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) on Friday commissioned construction of a US$2m (about sh4b) Kampala-based campus.
A foundation stone was laid near Kibuli Mosque and Kibuli Core Primary Teacher’s College, which have been housing the university’s students since 2001.
The university’s founding director, Dr. Ahmed Ssengendo, said the construction was expected to be completed in September.
Young Men Muslim Association patron Prince Kasim Nakibinge offered the land on which the six-storey building is to be built.
