Eng. Kazibwe discharged
KAMPALA — Eng. Charles Kazibwe, the estranged husband of former Vice-President Dr. Specioza Kazibwe, was on Monday discharged from Mulago Hospital where he spent 30 days. Kazibwe, who is nursing a fractured left leg, said at his Kayebe residence in Nangabo yesterday that he managed to clear his bill which was almost sh2m.

Taban Amin for hijja
KAMPALA — The son of former president Idi Amin, Taban Amin, was among 500 pilgrims who left yesterday to perform Hijja this year. Amin, who left with the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council pilgrims, left for Saudi Arabia through Nairobi. It was not clear whether he would visit his late father’s home. The pilgrims are expected to return in mid February.

Woman held over hubby
KAMPALA — The City hall Court yesterday charged Gorreti Tuhiriwe, 20, a housewife, with the murder of her husband, Benon Karahukayo. Prosecution alleged that Karahukayo was killed during a domestic fight which he reportedly started when he got home drunk, on December 31.

Boy tells of sex exploits
RAKAI — A court was recently shocked when a 16-year-old boy told the magistrate that he had sex with a 40-year-old woman. “I had sex with Esther Twefuga for a relatively long time and by the time my mother caught us we had done it more than once,” the boy said. Twefuga is charged with assaulting the S.2 boy with whom she was caught on January 2.

Kabaka sued over land
MPIGI — A landlady recently sued Kabaka Ronald Mutebi, demanding that a caveat which was placed on her land be lifted. Anne Persis Lusejjera said the Kabaka, through the Buganda Land Board (BLB), placed a caveat on her 10 acres situated on block 208 plot 113-114 in Naziba Mpigi district.
