MBALE resident district commissioner Hajji Abbas Seguya has advised residents to stop using incompetent contractors for community projects.
He said shoddy work was done because the community showed no interest in government development programmes.
Seguya was addressing members of Bugisu Civil Society Network (BUCINET) during a meeting held at St. Austin Social Centre in Mbale town.
He said the Government would, whenever possible, assisted organised groups that were run like business enterprises, citing the experiences of the Youth Entrepreneurship Scheme.
