Owning a vehicle is good because it reduces the trouble one would go through if they were to move from one place to another in a taxi. This is especially true if a person has to travel with big luggage or a group of people.

Some firms in Kampala are bent on ensuring that all people acquire vehicles as a way of easing movement from one place to another.

Al Malik Motors is one of the firms that want to put a smile on people’s faces as the new year progresses. Located along Makubuya Road in the Nakawa Industrial Area, the firm currently boasts of a very large Internal Car Depot (ICD) that got a facelift recently.

Malik Azhar, the manager, says: “We currently have about 600 hundred used vehicles. “We acquire them from leading distributors in Japan. They are in very good condition,” Azhar explains.

The firm has made car acquisition easy by putting in place two easy policies. One of them is hire purchase that also requires one to hold an account with Stanbic Bank.

Under it, a client would get a vehicle of their choice but the bank would effect payment by debiting the owner’s account.

“We instituted this after realising that people wanted cars but could not collected a big sum of money at a go to buy a vehicle of their dreams,” Azhar adds.

“Through this kind of arrangement, a person acquires a vehicle without feeling the pinch directly since they would not have to touch the money.”

He adds that it is only those with accounts in Stanbic Bank who can enjoy the service. Another way of acquiring vehicles worth noting is the credit scheme.

Under it, one picks a car of their choice, pays 70-80 percent of the total cost and drives away in their new machine.

Azhar, however, says: “This would only work if the prospective buyer entered into an agreement showing their ability and commitment to pay the rest within a given time.

Using the above terms, clients can get various kinds of vehicles from Japan. These include saloon pick ups, minibuses, microbuses (kamunyes), big buses, light and heavy-duty trucks plus many others.

Most are of the Toyota make. Some are four-wheel drives while others use the two-wheel mechanism. Malik emphasises that their vehicles are good because they buy them from the best suppliers in Japan.

Al Malik does not let a person drive away without registration numbers. No. Bought vehicles are registered before they leave the ICD.

You love vehicles from Germany? Then visit Al Malik. They have BMWs, Benz and others.

Those who purchase many vehicles at once are the luckiest since the firm would transport them easily and quickly to your doorstep.
