GEOFFREY Sserunkuma!
It is now clear that Sserunkuma is the one player coach Paul Hasule fears in this country. Police coach Hasule’s entire strategy at Namboole today will focus on containing the player KCC snatched from his ranks during the transfers.

“I must admit I didn’t want him to go. He is sharp, quick and as good as any finisher I have ever seen.
He is a good goal scorer. We will have to work hard and very tight at the back to stop him,” Hasule said.
The 22-year-old striker was Police FC’s top scorer last season with 12 goals.

But Sserunkuma has since failed to light up Lugogo following his high-profile move, with just two goals in as many pre-season matches.

Abubaker Tabula has instead turned out to be KCC’s tower of strength, scoring twice as URA fell 2-1 in their first game of this year’s Super League.

Elsewhere, perennial adversaries Express FC travel away to Masaka for an upcountry high-pressure fixture against Masaka FC.
The Reds won two of their meetings last season, in games that were illuminated by the skills of Peter Lwebuga.

The left footed dead-ball specialist has since enjoyed a good vein of form. Express coach James Sianga insists his sides’ loss against SC Villa in the 2004 season opener strengthened his players’ resolve.

“We are back and back to our best,” he pointed.

In Bugiri, George Ssemogerere’s Old Timers host Iganga in what could be a lightweight contest.
Both sides lost their season openers and will have plenty at stake to fight for.

There will be four games today, and one tomorrow. Table leaders SC Villa clash against URA on Sunday at Namboole stadium.
