The Uganda U-19 cricket team leave India today for Bangladesh on their final step of the journey to the World Cup which commences on February 16.

The passage to India was two fold. To obtain good quality cricket equipment and for the team to gain experience on Asian grass wickets.

The team were presented with their equipment by the Uganda official equipment sponsors Vampire at their factory in Punjab on Saturday.

Yesterday, the team received their colourful designer yellow, red and black shirts and trousers, complete with yellow sweaters, track suits and floppy hats.

Meanwhile the team have been reflecting on the four defeats inflicted on them during the warm up games against Indian sides. “This has been a good learning experience for the boys.

They now know what its like to play on Asian grass wickets against good quality bowling,” coach Tom Tikolo remarked.
